Kenneth White, President of the American Academy of Nursing, and Donna Nickitas, Chair of the Edge Runner Award Committee, present the award to Betty Long, President/Founder of Guardian Nurses.
Guardian Nurses’ leadership team traveled to Washington, D.C. to accept an Edge Runner Award from the American Academy of Nursing for our Mobile Care Coordinator Program on Friday, October 6.
From the Academy’s website: “The American Academy of Nursing’s Edge Runners initiative recognizes nurse-designed models of care that reduce cost, improve health care quality, advance health equity and enhance consumer satisfaction.
“Through its Edge Runners program, the Academy recognizes new and innovative ideas that transform health and underscore the leadership, ingenuity and determination of nurses. Edge Runner models demonstrate significant clinical, financial, community and policy outcomes that are sustained and replicated.”
As we celebrate our 20th year supporting patients, all of us on the Guardian Nurses’ team are incredibly proud of the Academy’s recognition of our nurses’ work.
Congratulations Guardian Nurse. A well deserved honor!
Congratulations to the Guardian Nurses team. You all are an inspiration to Nurse Advocates across the country!
