Individuals and Families:
Our Nurse Advocates Make the Healthcare System Work You
Engage us privately to advocate for you, guide you, and ensure you get the best care
Individuals and families typically engage Guardian Nurses when they are frightened, confused or overwhelmed by a healthcare issue, or sense they are not receiving the best care. Those concerns are valid. Our healthcare system is extremely complex, and research shows that only slightly more than half of Americans actually get the appropriate care when they are sick. Even fewer receive an accurate bill.
Our patient advocates are experienced nurses who ensure patients make informed healthcare decisions, get appropriate, high-quality care, and have expert help deciphering bills and dealing with insurance companies.
Highlights of Next-Level Patient Advocacy
- Our nurse advocates work with and for the patient, not the hospital or health system, and not the insurance company. Their independence enables them to focus on one goal: the best possible outcome for the patient.
- Our advocates facilitate second opinions, and if current medical providers are not the best qualified to treat the patient, they facilitate transfer to a top provider.
- Our healthcare advocacy program is not telephone-only. When needed, the advocate goes with the patient to medical appointments and makes in-person home and hospital visits.
- Our patient advocacy services are available in every state.
Patients and their families can count on their nurse advocate to:
GO WITH YOU TO SEE DOCTORS, to ask questions and to get answers.
VISIT YOU in the hospital or at home to make sure you’re getting good care.
IDENTIFY PROVIDERS for all care needs and second opinions.
EXPEDITE APPOINTMENTS so you can be seen as quickly as possible.
EXPLAIN A NEW DIAGNOSIS to help you make informed decisions.
PROVIDE DECISION SUPPORT when you consider treatment options.
ASSIST IN OBTAINING covered equipment and services.
BE YOUR GUIDE, coach and advocate for any healthcare issue.
Nurse advocates do not make medical or financial decisions for you, make a medical diagnosis, determine fault or legal liability, provide direct nursing care or provide financial management services.

Pricing for Advocacy Services
Health insurance does not typically cover patient advocacy fees. Increasingly, the employers who self-fund health plans and union health & welfare funds are including coverage for Guardian Nurses patient advocacy services. In addition, many of the largest employee health benefits consultants (brokers) now include our patient advocacy services in the plans they offer to their client businesses.
Check to see if you may be covered as part of such a plan. If you’re not, contact us. Guardian Nurses accepts payment via Venmo as well as credit card payments through PayPal. Call for current hourly rates.
Let’s face it, the advocate’s employer matters
The cost of FREE patient advocates provided by an insurer or healthcare system is obvious: these advocates are employees working in the best interests of their employer. Guardian Nurses patient advocates are independent—FREE to pursue their one goal: the best outcome for the patient.
