8th Annual Women’s Health Symposium

The star and host of “The Dr. Oz Show,” Dr. Mehmet Oz, was the featured speaker at the Virtua's 8th Annual Women's Health Symposium on September 15 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. He spoke on "Tips for Women: How to Stay Youthful, Healthy and Vital." Among the hundreds on hand to hear his speech was Guardian Nurses President Betty Long. Previously a guest on "The Dr. Oz Show," Long chatted briefly with Dr. Oz about healthcare topics of mutual interest during a break in the syposium program.

Long shared six lessons from Florence Nightingale’s career that could be utilized by today’s nurses as they advocate for patients. To honor Nurse Nightingale, Long dressed as the historic figure.
