Guardian Nurses Healthcare Advocates, a nurse-led healthcare advocacy organization celebrating more than two decades of guiding patients through the complexities of the healthcare system, proudly announces the addition of NinaEliza Langan, BSN, RN, to its Mobile Care Coordinator® (MCC) program team serving the Schools Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).

Founded in 2016, SHIF is a regional health insurance fund that offers public entities in New Jersey a cost-effective source for providing quality health benefits to their employees. Since its partnership with Guardian Nurses began, SHIF has continued to invest in accessible, high-touch care for its members, expanding the program’s reach.

Nurse Langan, of Marlborough, NJ, brings over 14 years of diverse clinical experience to the role. She has worked in large acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, and most recently as a school nurse, which gives her valuable insight into the needs of SHIF’s covered populations.

She joins a dedicated team of Guardian Nurses serving SHIF, including:

  • Jennifer White, MSN, RN
  • Lindsay Aliano, BSN, RN
  • Janice Penn, BSN, RN
  • Tylethia Ruffin, BSN, RN
  • Lauren Krankowski, BSN, RN
  • Kelli Axner, BSN, RN

“We are proud to see our partnership with SHIF continue to grow,” said Betty Long, MHA, RN, President/CEO and Founder of Guardian Nurses. “Nurse Langan’s experience and compassion make her a perfect fit for our Mobile Care Coordinator® program. Our nurses bring calm and clarity during what is often a stressful time in people’s lives. Whether helping explain test results, navigating treatment options, scheduling second opinions, or sitting with a family at a doctor’s office, they are by our patients’ sides every step of the way.”

Guardian Nurses’ innovative MCC program, recognized by the American Academy of Nursing with its 2023 Edge Runners award, brings professional nurses directly to patients at home, in the hospital, or wherever they need support. Traveling in branded vehicles, MCC nurses serve as personal healthcare advocates, answering questions, scheduling appointments, facilitating second opinions, resolving insurance issues, and ensuring that patients receive timely, coordinated, and compassionate care.
